Clay Mug Process

This is my clay mug going into the kiln. It sits in here while the kiln goes to a high temperature and "bakes" or "cooks" it. The actual term for this is called "firing" it. After my mug comes out and is done being fired I can sand and paint it. My mug will almost be done then. As you can see on the picture a few other kid's mugs are being fired for the second time after they're painted it.
